Deep vein thrombosis is also known as DVT in which blood clot develops within a deep vein in the patient's body. It basically happens in the leg. Blood clot problem which occurs in a vein is called venous thrombosis. The patient may suffer a lot of pain as well as swelling in their leg which may also lead some complicated issues known as pulmonary embolism.

This problem strike when a piece of the blood clot breaks off into the bloodstream and blocks lung's vessels. When DVT & Pulmonary embolism come together are known as venous thromboembolism (VTE).
